Historical Revivalism-- the Architects of Shaker Heights

The Shaker Historical Society presents a program entitled "Historical Revivalism-- the Architects of Shaker Heights" with guest speaker, Greydon Petznick, on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at 3:00 pm.

The Shaker Historical Society (SHS), 16740 South Park Blvd. in Shaker Heights, OH presents a program entitled “Historical Revivalism-- the Architects of Shaker Heights” with guest speaker, Greydon Petznick, an architect at Van Auken Akins, LLC, a Cleveland area architectural firm on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at 3:00 pm.

The peak years of the development of Shaker Heights paralleled the careers of some of the finest architects and builders in American history during an age of eclecticism in America.  Collectively known as “historical revivalists,” these men trained in academies in Rome and Paris.

A resident of the Fernway neighborhood in Shaker Heights, Greydon volunteers at the Shaker Heights Library Architectural Collection and serves as a trustee of the Shaker Historical Society. Greydon, whose parents and grandparents were longtime residents of Shaker Heights, spent many of his summers as a youngster here.
