Officers Arrest Man After Foot Chase at Chagrin-Lee; Witness Saw Drawn Guns

Traffic slowed while police responded to what witnesses said was an incident at a nearby store.

Traffic near the intersection of Lee Road and Chagrin Boulevard was backed up Friday afternoon as police chased on foot, captured and then apparently arrested a man.

Police would not immediately provide details on the incident late Friday afternoon. A police dispatcher said that officials likely would release more information on Monday.

Witnesses to the chase and arrest said police were pursuing the man apparently in connection with an incident at a Lee Road business.

According to one witness who declined be named, the man was running on Lee toward Chagrin when officers caught up with him. The witness said he also saw officers draw their guns on the man and a woman who accompanied him. Both appeared to comply slowly with officers' orders, the witness said.

Several police cars sat near the intersection, as two officers could be seen restraining and handcuffing a man. Several onlookers took pictures of the incident from an RTA bus stop on Lee.
