Championship Hockey, Bank Robbery & the Daleford Road Fire

1. Shaker Heights High School holds the state hockey title after last night's win over Sylvania Northview, defending state champions. See our coverage of the game here.

2. Authorities are looking for the man who robbed the PNC Bank on Chagrin Boulevard Thursday.

At about 9:15 a.m., a man entered the bank and handed the teller a note, which implied he had a weapon and demanded money, according to the Cleveland Office of the FBI.

The man took cash from the teller and fled from the bank.

The suspect is described as a black, dark-skinned man -- thought to be in his mid 40s, about 5 feet, 10 inches in height with a medium build.

He wore a grey hooded sweatshirt, jeans, no gloves, white sneakers and a grey skull cap.

A possible second suspect was also observed.

This suspect is described as a black man with high-top haircut and thin build. He wore a black fitted jacket, jeans, no gloves and no facial hair. 

The second suspect was observed meeting the robber in vestibule area and exiting the bank with him, according to FBI.

3. Shaker Heights High senior Ifeolu Claytor has been published on the PBS web site as part of Tavis Smiley's Education Under Arrest series.

The guest blog -- entitled "Taking Responsibility" -- talks about Claytor's experience with the Minority Achievement Committee Scholars (MAC) program at Shaker Heights High School.

Claytor explains that the MAC is "a mentorship program in which thriving 11th- and 12th- grade African American males encourage their younger peers to follow suit."

4. A fire investigation report reveals details of the December 2012 Daleford Road fire that killed Jance and Mary Paige Reynolds.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined, but investigators believe it was unintentional.

The report appears to confirm rumors that Jance Reynolds died in an effort to save his daughter’s life.
