Sergio's, Sarava Both Close Unexpectedly

Two popular restaurants officially closed on Monday.

Two popular area restaurants unexpectedly closed their doors on Monday.

Both Sergio's and Sarava went out of business on March 18, according to The Plain Dealer.

Sergio's, on University Circle, and Sarava, on Shaker Square, managed to stay in business even after the death of owner and head chef Sergio Abramof, Cleveland Scene reported.

While no official reason for the closing has been reported, The Plain Dealer reports the following message was left on the answering machine for both restaurants:

We regret to inform you that as of March 18, the restaurant is no longer operating. We will not have access to retrieve voice mail, so please do not leave a messages. We’d like to thank all of our customers for their ongoing support over the years.
