President Barack Obama's appearance in Cleveland has been canceled, according to the office of U.S. Rep. Marcia Fudge.
Obama planned to speak at an Monday morning, but has since decided to go to Louisiana in the wake of Tropical Storm Isaac.
"The president is making an abrupt change in his travel schedule," said Belinda Prinz, a spokeswoman for Fudge's office. "What plans he may have to come back to Northeast Ohio, we don't know yet. It's way too early to say."
White House spokesman Jay Carney announced the trip Friday aboard Air Force One as Obama flew to Texas to speak to U.S. service members and their families, The Huffington Post reported.
The president plans on examining damage caused by Isaac this week, seven years after Hurricane Katrina ravaged New Orleans.

Willard just came off the republican convention where they TRIED to portray him as a caring human being. Where they tried to show his softer side and put an end to his image as a robot. They spent 3 days using every possible angle to make Willard seem like just another guy. And when he meets one of homeless victims from the recent hurricane he merely brushes them off and says "go home...call 211"! Willard...their home is gone! They have no home. Its been flooded. Go home? To where Willard? They don't have 4 or 5 homes like you do. They've got one home that was destroyed and they need help..

Telling the man who lost his home in a disaster to call 211 is like telling everyone to call a certain number and you'll win a million dollars. Think they'll have an easy time getting their call through? Do you understand my analogy? Do you even know what analogy means? Also your joke about gulf/golf falls flat because gulf and golf are pronounced differently. I know how important pronunciation is to you, so I'm surprised you don't know the difference between the two.
