Shaker Schools Superintendent Candidates Announced

Shaker Heights City School Board has invited public to meet candidates this week.

The Shaker Heights City School Board has invited the public to meet three finalists to fill the district superintendent spot next school year.

The candidates are David A. Bowlin, Director of Curriculum and Professional Development at The Center for Learning in Westlake; Gregory C. Hutchings, Director of PreK-12 Initiatives in the Alexandria City (Virginia) Public Schools; and Demond A. Means, Superintendent of the Mequon-Thiensville (Wisconsin) School District.

The public is invited to meet them next week in the Upper Cafeteria at Shaker Heights High School:

  • Wednesday, March 13, 4:30-5:30 p.m. - Dr. Bowlin
  • Thursday, March 14, 4:30-5:30 p.m. - Dr. Hutchings
  • Friday, March 15, 4:30-5:30 p.m. - Dr. Means

Their application materials, including their resumes and personal statements, are in the PDFs to the right.

Mark Freeman announced last year that he will step down as Shaker Schools superintendent at the end of this school year. The district hired a firm to conduct the search last year, and released a profile of the ideal candidate earlier this year.
