Cleveland.com has reported that, under a new policy, Shaker Heights High School won't give students zeroes for missing assignments. Instead, they will receive a grade of "missing."

The principal told the newspaper that students will then attend after-school study halls where they can complete their missing work. Students would receive reduced credit for completing the missing work.
