Shaker Heights School Board To Consider Personnel Changes, Issuing and Selling Bonds

The board's regular meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. today at the Shaker Heights City Schools Administrative Offices.

The Shaker Heights School Board will meet at 6 p.m. today in the 15600 Parkland Drive.

Board members will consider various assignment changes, supplemental contracts, appointments and resignations, according to the agenda, included in the PDFs section of this article.

The board will also consider the retirement of Dianne Derrick, a teacher in the Shaker Schools for 29 years. She most recently taught enriched language arts at , and her retirement will be effective at the end of the 2011-2012 school year.

And the resignation of another 30-year veteran, Timothy Bates, head custodian at , is also on the agenda. If approved, his retirement would be effective Oct. 1, 2012.

The board will also consider issuing and selling bonds to finance the high school stadium improvements (unvoted debt limit of $850,000), energy conservation projects ($2.3 million), buses ($1 million) and outstanding building and facilities improvements ($4.9 million.)
