Shaker Heights Residents Places Second At National Forensic League Competition

Hawken School junior and Shaker Heights resident William Mascaro placed second in the nation in Student Congress at the National Catholic Forensic League Grand Finals for the second year in a row.

The tournament was held in Philadelphia over Memorial Day weekend and the final session was held in the City Council chamber at Philadelphia City Hall.

The National Catholic Forensic League was founded in 1951, with annual national competitions between speakers from over sixty diocesan centers. This year’s competition had almost 3000 participants.

Mascaro is the son of Dan and Susie Mascaro of Shaker Heights.
