LOOK: Hathaway Brown Students Learn About Indian Dance, Culture

Sanjib Bhattacharya, a visiting dancer from Delhi, India, who is completing a three-month artist residency at Rainey through the Cleveland Foundation's Creative Fusion program, gave the sixth-graders a dance lesson.

Hathaway Brown sixth-graders took a field trip to the Rainey Institute Sept. 14 to learn about Indian culture and dance from Sanjib Bhattacharya, a visiting dancer from Delhi, India, who is completing a three-month artist residency at Rainey through the Cleveland Foundation’s Creative Fusion program.

Arts organizations in Cleveland are hosting five international artists, including Bhattacharya, through November as part of the Fusion program.

"The program supports extended artist visits to Cleveland to maximize the cultural exchange between the artists and the community," according to a press release from the Cleveland Foundation about the event.
