Concerned about the deer population in Shaker Heights? If so, tonight's the night to voice your opinion.
City Council will host a work session at 7 p.m. to discuss the deer population, which many believe has grown in recent years. Representatives of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife will attend the meeting. Shaker Heights animal control contractor Greg Miller will also partake in the discussion.
The public will be allowed to comment.
“We haven’t done a scientific study, but based on what we’ve heard from residents, the problem has grown worse from when we earlier considered it,” Mayor Earl Leiken told the Sun News.
“In light of the increased presence of deer in the community, we felt it was time to have a further discussion.”
