Man Trespasses Nursing Home & Burglary on Palmerston: Shaker Heights Police Blotter

Wandering in a nursing home: Shaker Heights Police arrested a man on Aug. 16 for criminal trespassing at Shaker Gardens nursing home on Northfield Road.

An employee called that day to report a man wandering in the home. The 38-year-old Warrensville Heights man didn't take anything but had nobody to see there or any other purpose to be on the home's grounds. Shaker Police Lt. Jeff DeMuth said Shaker Gardens quickly decided to press the trespassing charge against the man.

Burglary on Palmerston: A Palmerston Road resident on Aug. 17 reported several stolen items after an unknown suspect forced entry through a window.

The resident believes it occurred between 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. The suspect got away with a cell phone, laptop, Nintendo Wii and five video games.

The man behind the building: Police executed a warrant arrest Aug. 18 after noticing a man creeping behind a closed business.

Officers stopped him after he emerged from behind a building on Lee Road. Upon identifying him, they found out he was wanted by Cleveland Police on a criminal warrant.
