Man Arrested After Firing Gun During Fight With Girlfriend

A 30-year-old Shaker Heights man was arrested after he threatened his girlfriend by firing a handgun into the air, according to Shaker Heights Police.

The man faces charges of domestic violence, illegal discharge of a firearm and aggravated menacing after the 10 p.m. incident July 6 incident on Strathavon Road.

According to the police report, the man was fighting with his girlfriend and then took a handgun outside and begin firing it into the air. Two friends also present at the home told police their feared for their safety, according to the report.

The police were called and the man was arrested and taken to jail.
