Amanda Buxton Sentenced To Four Years In Prison

Amanda Buxton, 22, plead guilty to driving under the influence and causing the death of Shaker Heights man Brian Horwich last year was sentenced to four years in prison.

A Cleveland woman who plead guilty to driving under the influence and causing the death of Shaker Heights man Brian Horwich last year was sentenced to four years in prison.

On Nov. 15, 2012, Amanda Buxton, 22, of Cleveland, along with Brian Horwich, 25, of Shaker Heights, and another 25-year-old male victim were involved in a single-car accident when their vehicle struck a tree on Fairmount Boulevard in Shaker Heights.

Buxton plead guilty in July to aggravated vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated. She was sentenced this week.

The crash happened just before 2 a.m. Nov. 15 at the intersection of Warrensville Center Road and Fairmount Boulevard in Shaker Heights. According to prosecutors, Buxton crashed into a tree. She had illegal prescription jobs in her possession at the time.

Police said that Horwich was in the back seat of the car.
