University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center presents Family Fun and Fitness Fair in partnership with City of Warrensville Heights

Free April 5 wellness event will offer health screenings, fitness demos and family fun

Beachwood, Ohio – University Hospitals (UH) Ahuja Medical Center is partnering with the City of Warrensville Heights to present a Family Fun and Fitness Fair. The free wellness event will take place on Saturday, April 5 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Warrensville Heights Family YMCA, located at 4433 Northfield Road in Warrensville Heights.

The Fair is under the direction of Bradley D. Sellers, Mayor, City of Warrensville Heights. It is a component of the ongoing Mayor’s Initiative for Health and Wellness developed by the city and UH Ahuja Medical Center. The event is designed for kids and adults and will feature:

*Free wellness screenings including blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, body mass index, bone density, memory, balance, flexibility, vision and hearing

*Fitness demonstrations including Bokwa®, Insanity®, line dancing and spinning

*Push-up and hula-hoop contests

*Healthy cooking demonstrations

*Free chair massages

*Games, clowns, balloon animals, story readings and prize raffles

Adults who attend the Family Fun and Fitness Fair will receive a free one-week pass to the Warrensville Heights YMCA. Attendees will also be able to sign up for Mayor Sellers’ Wellness Challenge, which rewards the city’s residents who reach the goal of 1,500 minutes of exercise during the ten-week period from April 12 – June 21.

“Warrensville Heights’ partnership with UH Ahuja Medical Center has enabled us to proactively strive to keep our residents at their healthiest,” says Mayor Sellers. “The Family Fun and Fitness Fair and our ongoing Wellness Challenge are just two creative ways of encouraging everyone in our community to be more physically active.”
