Shaker Heights Police are searching for two men they believe robbed BP at 13165 Larchmere Road. The robbery happened April 28 at 2:07 p.m., said police. Two men walked in with a gun and got away with $57 cash, 30 cigars, nine packs of cigarettes, and the cashier's wallet and purse. The two black men are described as aged between 18 and 26, standing about 5'6" and weighing 150 to 170 pounds.
Shaker Heights Police said that a man was shot in the face last week during a home invasion. According to witness statements, two men entered a home on the 3600 block of Ludgate Road and told the residents to lie on the floor while the intruders searched the house for money and drugs. One man shot one of the residents in the face. Police said the bullet entered the front of his top jaw, shattered his cheekbone, and left near his ear. Shaker Heights Police charged two men with a recent string of thefts from cars in the city. The thefts occurred on Traver, Rawnsdale, Lytle and Warrensville Center Roads. Police said the men used a credit card stolen from one of the cars at a business with a surveillance camera, and they were able to identify the suspects and the car. Then, an officer spotted the men driving in Shaker Heights — in the parking lot on Warrensville Center Road in which they are accused of breaking into cars — and stopped them. Police catch fleeing driver later A Shaker Heights police officer tried to pull over a driver with a traffic warrant on Feb. 27 near the intersection of Millerton and Sutton roads. However, the driver sped away instead of stopping. Instead of chasing him, the officer opted to find the driver later because he knew the person. Police arrested him later that day and charged him with driving under suspension and fleeing and eluding. Teenager jumped, robbed A 16-year-old boy from Shaker Heights said he was walking in the neighborhood of the library on the evening of Feb. 20 when he was jumped. Shaker Heights police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in the city Sunday. At about 3:45 p.m., while in the hallway of an apartment building in the 2500 block of Kemper Road, two men approached another man. One of the men proffered a dark-colored revolver, and the two men proceeded to steal the man's money clip and driver's license, according to Shaker Heights Police. The victim described the robbers as black men -- both between 17 and 25 years of age and about six feet tall. One wore a white hooded sweatshirt.
