Shaker Heights Red Raiders Look to Bounce Back in 2012
Football team enters the Northeast Ohio Conference this season

The Shaker Heights varsity football team is chomping at the bit to prove itself in 2012 after a 2-8 campaign last season.
This year marks the Red Raiders' first season in the Northeast Ohio Conference. Head Coach Jarvis Gibson admits the team has no clue what to expect from its new batch of rivals. But that's part of what will make this year an exciting one, he said.
Shaker's first opponent is non-conference foe Solon. The teams will kick the season off on Aug. 24 at Solon. The Red Raiders' first game at the newly renovated stadium will be on Sept. 1 and a highlight of the city's Regional Reunion weekend.
Here's the team's full schedule. All home games begin at 1 p.m., and all away games start at 7 p.m.:
