Shaker Apartments Site of Several Break-Ins

Four break-ins have been reported in one area.

The Shaker Heights Police Department supplied the following information. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Shaker Heights Police believe someone is breaking into storage lockers in Shaker Heights apartment buildings and taking items from inside.

Between Sept. 6 and Sept. 17, four break-ins were reported at apartments on Van Aken Boulevard.

A boys’ bike has been reported stolen from a storage locker on the 15000 block and $780 in tools were reported stolen from a maintenance truck parked at apartment on the 17000 block.

In another incident Sept. 14, a building manager said that he caught someone walking out of a storage locker with stolen tools. When the building manager confronted him, the man ran, dropping the tools behind him.

No suspects have been arrested.
