Onaway Elementary Celebrates Walk to School Day Today

Children will learn walking safety tips, the importance of physical activity and more.

Children around the world celebrated International Walk to School Day Oct. 3 by walking or riding their bikes to school.

Onaway students in Shaker Heights will recognize the Walk to School Day today, learning safe walking tips and identifying common hazards.

The event is part of UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and Safe Kids Greater Cleveland's International Walk to School Week, which noted 30 participating Cleveland-area schools and events from Sept. 20 through Oct. 10.

Walk to School Day helps promote pedestrian safety, physical fitness and environmental awareness.
