Man Quick-Changes Cashier Out of $650: Shaker Heights Blotter

The Shaker Heights Police Department supplied the following information. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Man scams cashier out of $650

Sept. 6, 9:02 a.m. — A man paid for a small item at Heinen’s with a $100 bill and told the cashier that she had given him the wrong change several times. In the end, he walked out with $650.22 in stolen cash.

Men arrested with stolen bicycles

Sept. 7, 8:24 p.m. — Two Shaker Heights men were arrested and charged with receiving stolen property after officers stopped them for not wearing helmets and discovered that the bikes they were riding were stolen.

Van stolen

Sept. 10, 4:24 a.m. — A 1990 Chevy van was reported stolen from the 3700 block of Sudbury Road.
