How Shaker Heights Residents Voted In the 2012 Election
We delve into election results to see how Shaker Heights residents voted on the presidential, senate and other races down the ballot.
Barack Obama won the national vote and he won in Ohio.
He also won in Shaker Heights, according to unofficial vote totals from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.
While Cuyahoga County is a Democratic stronghold, Republicans needed to perform well in the suburbs to shave off votes from the president's total.
And Shaker Heights did not help him: only 19 percent of residents voted for the Republican challenger, while 30 percent of country residents gave him their votes.
In addition, Shaker Heights residents also chose Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown over GOP challenger Josh Mandel.
Voter turnout in Shaker Heights was 68 percent, only slightly higher than the county's 67 percent.
Here's a breakdown of how each of the precincts went for president and for each of the other major races:

Doesn't anyone proofread these columns? There's no antecedent for the object pronoun "him".
