The Shaker Heights Red Raiders bounced back in a major at the first home game in a newly renovated stadium.

The team beat Cleveland JFK 35-0 Saturday in front of a packed crowd celebrating the city's 100th birthday.

Not long after representatives from all Shaker Heights athetic teams cut a ribbon to begin play at the stadium, senior quarterback Jimmy Pope hit senior wide receiver Derek Burgess for a 37-yard touchdown on the game's first play.

After several JFK penalties, Shaker struck again with a 7-yard touchdown run by running back Ramses Owens, a 6-foot-1 junior.

Junior running back Greg Claytor added two scoring runs in the second half to finish off JFK and bring Shaker's record to 1-1.
