Failed Bank Heist Yields Interoffice Mail

Man pulls gun, demands courier's bag outside bank

 

The Shaker Heights Police Department supplied the following information. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Shaker Heights Police are looking for a man who robbed an interoffice mail courier at gunpoint.

Just before 5 p.m. on Oct. 3, the suspect approached an interoffice mail courier who was getting out of his car in the parking lot of Huntington Bank at 20601 Fairmount Blvd.

The man showed the courier a gun and demanded that he hand over the bag in his hand.

Police believe that the suspect thought he was getting away with a bag of cash; instead, he got interoffice mail.

The suspect fled on foot with his loot.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-10-inch, 180-pound black male in his mid-30s.
